PKBR Staff Writer Published 15 November 2017

Pact Group Holdings has agreed to acquire Asian packaging operations of Closure Systems International (CSI Asia) and Graham Packaging Guangzhou (GP Guangzho) from Reynolds Group Holdings for around $99m.

The deal does not include the acquisition of Japan operations.

CSI is specialized in plastic closure design and manufacturing of capping equipment/application systems.

The company produces capping machines, cap handling systems, as well as headsets and chucks. CSI’s PP136 Capper is a single head capping machine, which operates in a manual configuration for sealing bottles and containers of various shapes and sizes.

Graham Packaging produces light and damage resistant PET containers, Polyolefin plastic resin and decorative technologies.

The firm’s PET technologies include ThermaSet, AeroPET, EPET, G-Lite, Escape and others.

Polyolefin plastic resin is mostly used in the manufacturing of plastic containers. Common Polyolefins include Polypropylene and High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE).

Graham also produces decorative technologies such as silk screening, hot stamping, shrink sleeve, heat transfer and others.

Subject to final regulatory approvals, the deal is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2018.

Based in Lake Forest of Illinois, Reynolds Group is engaged in the manufacturing and supplying of consumer food and beverage packaging and storage products.

Pact Group Holdings produces and distributes rigid plastics and metal packaging in Australia, New Zealand, China, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and the US.
